Our next session of Coffee with Dika is The Psychologist is IN.
We will be having two presenters for this coming session. Each presenter will be sharing their perspective towards the topic session. The first presenter is Tan Ivy, a counselling psychologist. She will share a unique perspective on the study of psychology and the opportunities in and out of the field and her personal experiences as an independent consultant between a private practice and non-profit organization. The second presenter is Yow Kien Yoong, a higher education professional. He will share his analysis on the business aspects of a counselling psychologist like Ivy, and how business education may help anyone, no matter what field they choose to pursue, to be successful.

Ms Tan Ivy, B.A. International Relations (San Francisco State University), M.A. Counselling Psychology-Marriage and Family Therapy (University of San Francisco), Registered and Licensed Counsellor Malaysia (#KB02707), Associate Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist (CAMFT), Member of the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA)
As a Counselling Psychologist, her scope of expertise extends to providing counselling support, psychotherapy and behaviour intervention to adolescents and family living with relationship difficulties, social and emotional issues and psychological disorders. Her experiences in the United States and Malaysia has made her embrace life in a more meaningful way and her opportunity working with at-risk youths has empowered her to become a better person plus a strong advocate for kids and youths. Currently, Ivy works as an independent counselling psychologist for a private practice and a non-profit one-stop multidisciplinary children and family centre.
Mr. Yow Kien Yoong, B.Sc in Human Resource Management, M.Sc in Higher Ed Administration
Mr. Yow’s experience spans across multi-faceted areas in education over 12 years in Malaysia and the USA. He has had fruitful experiences working with teaching and learning, recruitment, admissions, marketing, student affairs, operations, and many other roles which he has found to be very useful in guiding students to plan their study options and be prepared for their careers. Currently, Mr. Yow heads the School of Business at Kolej DiKa, offering the soon-to-be-launched Diploma in Business Management program.
