Our next session of Coffee with Dika is Not the Job I Signed Up For.

The job search process is a 2-way street for both the hiring manager and the job seeker. As much as the organization is interviewing the job seeker to potentially fill a position, the job seeker is also interviewing the organization to find a suitable fit.
Yet, many hiring managers are not proactive in preparation for the interview process and job seekers are not adequately prepared; resulting in job dissatisfaction, high turnovers, and increasing costs.
Relevant for new hiring managers or any staff involved with the interviewing process and job seekers, this Coffee with Dika session probes on the fundamentals of job interviews from both sides of the table, good practices in interviewing and being interviewed and practical tips to make the job interview process successful and rewarding for both the organization and the job seeker.

Day / Date: Saturday, 1st July 2017

Time: 2pm to 4pm

Fee: RM10 (including coffee / notes)

Trainer - Yow Kien YoongMr Yow Kien Yoong, B.Sc in Human Resource Management, M.Sc in Higher Ed Administration

Mr. Yow’s experience spans across multi-faceted areas in education over 12 years in Malaysia and the USA. He has had fruitful experiences on both sides on the interview table, as a hiring manager recruiting job seekers, and as a job seeker himself interviewing for a job. He is convinced the job interview process is a 2-way street: As much as the organization is interviewing the job seeker to potentially fill a position, the job seeker is also interviewing the organization to find a suitable fit. Therefore, both hiring managers and job seekers need to be proactive in their own ways throughout the process.

Mr. Yow will share his experiences as a hiring manager for a large state university in the United States, where he was responsible to coordinate the entire process of interviewing, selection and placement of approximately 150 staff members every year, and being a job seeker himself in numerous situations in the United States and Malaysia.
